Internal coatings for storage of flammable fluids in steel tanks - BRL-K779/04

Internal coatings of steel tanks in accordance with the requirements of BRL-K779 are suitable for the storage of fuels according to the PGS-Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 with a storage temperature between -20 0C to + 40 0C. In addition to the pure mineral fuels these coatings are also suitable for bio fuels such as bio petriol up to maximum E20 and bio diesels up to maximum B20. Also, these coatings are suitable for the storage of solvents and alchols

Owners of underground storage tanks. Also, this Evaluation Guideline is important for coatingĀ applicaters certified to the requirements of Evaluation Guideline BRL-K790.

When is this needed?

Owners of steel storage tanksfor (bio) fuels and used oils can increase the durability of their tanks when these are protect against corrosion by menas of an internal coating. Coatings complying with BRL-K779 meet these requiements. The long term experience with these coatings has resulted in increasing the recertification period of such tanks from 15 to 20 years.
